ANDERS BRANDERUD: THANK YOU FOR INTRODUCING OTHERS
TO FIRST CENTURY FOLLOWERS OF RIBI YEHOSHUA!!!

MY WONDERFUL AND LOVING MOTHER, JUANITA ISOM, RAISED ME TO RESPECT HER PERCEIVED VALUES OF THE ALMIGHY AND HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON,"FIRST BORN OF ALL CREATION". SHE WAS ALWAYS SEEKING TRUE LEARNING. AT AN EARLY AGE OF 16, I FELT THE NEED TO BE A PREACHER YET COULD NEVER ACCEPT "TRINITY" AND "IMMORTAL SOUL" DOCTRINES. THE ROAD HAS BEEN LONG AND EMOTIONALLY PAINFUL IN
MY PERSONAL QUEST FOR THE TRUE TEACHINGS OF "JESUS" WHOM I NOW KNOW AS RIBI YEHOSHUA THE MESSIAH.

IN MY QUEST, MY MIND ALWAYS WONDERED WHY PERSONS WANTING TO FOLLOW MESSIAH DID NOT PRACTICE THE JEWISH FAITH SAME AS YEHOSHUA. I'M NOW AGE 60 AND FEEL AS THOUGH A FRESH THUNDERSTORM HAS BROUGHT CLEARITY AND PEACE TO MY MIND.

AS A YOUNSTER, I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A JEWISH RABBI OF A REFORMED JEWISH SYNAGOGUE. HE GAVE ME A SIMPLISTIC LITTLE BOOK; THIS OFFENDED ME BECAUSE I SOUGHT A DEEPER MEANING. MY SECOND CONTACT WAS WITH A FINE RESPECTABLE COLLEGE PROFESSOR. IN HIS KINDESS, HE PERMITTED ME TO DELIVER A LATE TERM PAPER TO HIS HOME ON A SATURDAY MORNING. WHEN I ENTERED HIS HOME, I FELT A SENSE OF CALMNESS AND ORDERLY PEACE. HE INTRODUCED ME TO HIS WIFE; HER PIERCING EYES CONVEYED TO ME THAT I HAD DONE SOMETHING WRONG. HER EYES WERE NOT MEAN OR HATEFUL BUT DIRECT. LITTLE DID I KNOW THAT MY PRESENCE INTERRUPTED THEIR SABBATH. I HAVE
NEVER FOTGOTTEN THAT FEELING AND THINK OF IT TO THIS DAY.

THANKS TO YOU AND JASON, I AM NOW ON THE ROAD TO LEARNING ABOUT FOLLOWERS OF TRUE RIBI YEHOSHUA. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMENTS. THE HEBREW-JEWISH RELIGION IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL FAITH FILLED WITH RICHNESS,SIMBOLISM
AND PEACE. OVER THE YEARS I'VE TRIED TO READ A NUMBER OF BOOKS WRITTEN BY FINE JEWISH SCHALORS BUT I JUST DIDN'T HAVE EITHER THE CULTURAL OR RELIGIOUS BACKGROUND TO COMPREHEND. NOW,HOPEFULLY, I WILL BE ABLE TO SLOWLY LEARN. BEING A POET, I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO WRITE IN THE RICHNESS OF HEBREW THOUGHT.

SHALOM, FROM A USA-TEXAS GENTILE WHO LONGS TO BECOME
A FOLLOWER OF RIBI YEHOSHUA AND A JEWISH CONVERT.

In response to Brad's April 18, 2009 to Jason. In my
humble opinion, one should consider Jason's honest hearted spirit reqarding his comment about Jewish People following Talmud; therefore one must "read between the lines" so to speak.

Regarding Yeshua being God, I would encourage anyone to honestly study available materials starting in the
first century BC forward. Arius is a good place to start. Yeshua did not come to start a new religon. Since the first century BC, man's pagan thoughts have
slowly but surely influenced "Christian" thinking.

Thank you, Jason for helping me understand why we should use the name Yeshua.

Interesting blog, and many things I agree with you on. Indeed when we are exposed to the roots of the faith (the Hebraic roots of Christianity) we must reject many "christian" ideas in the name of scriptural and historical truth.

But I take issue with a statement you make on your "about the author" page where you say that it would be nice if all Jews recognized Jesus (Yeshua) as the Messiah (agreed so far) and then you go on to state that faith in Yeshua as Messiah is for them not necessary as long as they are practicing Torah, because Yeshua is the Living torah.

Are you absolutely sure you're right about that very important point?

We must be able to distinguish between the Messiah, who's "yoke" or interpretation of Torah, was light, and the actual written Torah of Moses. The two are not exactly the same, and to blend them together so as to say that Jews keeping Torah are already saved is deceptive.

Acts 4:12 says "there is no other name by which we must be saved".

John 3:16 says "that whosoever believe in him should not perish but have everlasting life"

By sending the message to Jews that they do not actually need to have faith in Yeshua you give them a false sense of salvation, storing up wrath for yourself and steering them astray of the truth.

The messianic movement is a great move of God in our present times, but there is a danger also of "messy antics" such as:
1. teaching that Yeshua is not God
2. teaching that Yeshua is not even necessary as long as Torah is kept
3. teaching that Torah is more important than the Gospel (go into any Messianic congregation and compare their evangelism to the average evangelical congregation - often you will find the are so involved in discussions of how to tie tzit-tzits and such that they've forgotten to outreach to their unsaved neighbors).

Thanks for listening -

You write: “My name is Jason. I am a talmid (disciple) of Yeshua HaMessiach, commonly (and incorrectly) refered to as Jesus the Christ.”

Hello Jason,
My name is Anders Branderud and I am from Sweden. The most important thing in my life is Judaism. I have practised Orthodox Judaism through Netzarim (www.netzarim.co.il) in Ra’anana in Israel (led by the Orthodox Jew Paqid Yirmeyahu ha-Tzadiq), who are followers of Ribi Yehoshua (the Messiah) since 2007-05. Before that I was a devoted Christian for 6 years.
The name of the historical Yeshua is Ribi Yehohsua. This is not the same person as le-havdil anti-Torah Jesus.
le-havdil,The research of world-recognized authorities (for example Barrie Wilson; www.barriewilson.com) in this area implies that Ribi Yehoshua was a Pharisee (a Torah-practising Jewish group - who according to 4Q MMT (a Scroll found in the Qumran-caves) practised both written and Halakhah (oral Torah).
Ribi Yehoshua – the Messiah - practised Halakhah (oral Torah) as preserved since Moshe (Moses) in an uninterrupted chain. משפט (Mishpat; a Hebrew word in Torah) is commanded to be followed by the mitzwot (commandments) in Torah. Mishpat is the decisions of how the mitzwot in Torah shall be followed! Therefore it’s no addition to the commandments as is prohibited in Devarim (Deuteronomy) 13:1-6. No one has the right to go against the authority of mishpat. See more at www.netzarim.co.il; click at the letters M and H and then scroll down to “mishpat” and “Halakhah”. Torah warns that one shouldn’t subordinate to the mishpat decided by the Beit Din; but instead follow their own eyes and their own heart. See the end of Be’midbar chapter 15.

I practise Torah and Halakhah to the best of my ability. I guarantee to you that it is not a heavy burden. It is wonderful to practise the mitzwot (commandments)

תורה (Torah) requires subordination to the בית דין (beit din)-system instituted by מֹשֶה בְפַּרְשַת יִתְּרוֹ (Mosheh in Parashah Yitro) and that the only legitimate בתי דין (batei din; that is beit din in plural) today are those that are successors to the בית דין system instituted by משה בפרשת יתרו: the Orthodox בתי דין.

If you want to follow the same and only Torah and Halakhah as the historical Ribi Yehoshua; you must subordinate yourself to Beit-Din ha-Netzarim (www.netzarim.co.il) in Ra’anana in Israel. That is the only Beit Din that believes Ribi Yehoshua is the Messiah; and therefore the only alternative to be a follower of Ribi Yehoshua is to subordinate oneself to the Beit-Din ha-Netzarim. The leader of Netzarim – Paqid Yirmeyahu ha-Tzadiq – is in good standing in the Beit ha-Kneset (Orthodox Synagogue) Moreshot Avot since more than a decade in Ra’anana in Israel.
